That is the college basketball landscape. Happens at all colleges, even Woffy:

Woffy has 4 of the 5 players that were Freshmen in 2015-16 still on the roster; Only 3 of the 6 that were Freshmen in 2016-17; and 3 of the 4 that were Freshmen last year;  They also have 2 undergrad transfers.

Lost a total of 5 of 15 from 2015-16 to 2018-19 to attrition.

Contrast that with The Citadel:

Have 3 of the 5 that were Freshmen in 2015-16 still on the roster; 2 of 6 that were Freshmen in 2016-17; and 4 of the 6 that were Freshmen last year.

Lost a total 8 of 17 from 2015-16 to 2018-19 to attrition.

For the most part, I disagree with what you are saying.  Would having 2 or 3 of those that left from the classes that came in in 2015-16 & 2016-17 have made that much of a difference?  I don't think so.

If some of them had stayed, we wouldn't have Stallworth & Kern.  and where would this team be without Lew Stallworth.  I think he is better than any of those that left.

Sorry for not wanting to analyze to this level. This is YMCA/D3 basketball. If that’s what we want, great. Otherwise find a basketball coach.
Good news is there was a D3 game last night with a score of 200-160 or something, we could impute that if we want to stick with the playground game plan.

There was a kid named Balogun or something like that, played two years ago.  By the end of the season (2017) was the best player on the team, 6' 6" 240 as a freshman and quit.  If he had stayed, would have been a difference maker and maybe some of the others that left could have helped as well.

Then there was Parks, SOCON Freshman of The Year (2017) complete mal content that poisoned the locker room and quit.  He probably was the catalyst that started the mass exodus last year.  That certainly did not help.

Can't see Baucom turning this program around AT THIS POINT, we just don't have the players to compete.  Hope I am wrong.

SOCON really tough this year.  First FU in top 25, now Wofford at 24.

Agreed, but with the talent and experience we had returning this year, plus the 2 Grad transfers, we have have greatly under performed expectations. Understand losing to Vermin & Woffy (should have been under 10, not getting blown out by 20, 30+ points), and maybe close losses to UNCG & ETSU.  We should be AT LEAST 8 - 8, maybe even 10 - 6, but not 4 - 12 in the SOCON.
