Everytime we play in an opponents stadium I can’t help to think about our current situation with the west side stands. What is the timeline for building a more permanent and more “recruiting pleasing” grandstands??

Not sure but I was at my sons ETSU game at pukeville and this is what it looked like. I have never seen so few fans at a conference game particularly with a legit top 15 team? Parse at best.

"Recruiting Pleasing"? Someone is smoking the devil's lettuce. I would love to meet the kid being recruited to shave his head, march in parades, sit for inspections, play football, and attend college classes that makes his decision based on the damn visitor side. How about we sellout our home side before we start claiming that our lack of a visitor side is causing recruits to go to Clemson instead of The Citadel. The Citadel is currently doing their damndest to get funding for classrooms, barracks, and a mess hall. There will be no state funds for the visitor side of a stadium, so open your checkbook if you want the recruits to see the "grandstands" of the sunny side of the stadium.

The visitors side at our game today didn't look any better (attendance: 3524), but you could sure hear them on TV.  I heard chants of "DEFENSE!!!" and CI - TA - D - E - L, numerous times.

Attendance at the Vermin/ETSU game:  5031.  We had 8008 for Towson & 9626 for CSU.  Both of those are what we would consider low.  I can remember back in the '70, '80s, & '90s and "small crowd was 12-15K.

Agree, and well said!!  Until we consistently sell out what we have now, I see no rush to "hurry up" and get something done just so we can have "eye candy" on the visitor's side, especially since there is no money to do it right.

Sure we could spend a few hundred thousand dollars to put up some kind of cheap permanent seating for 2000-3000 fans, but that wouldn't be the prudent thing to do.

Agree 100% - Only private donations will get the stadium done. Its that simple, we dont have the $$$ to do it right now.
