Please explain how we can:

1.  Beat Ga Tech on the road, but lose to VMI at home?

2.  Have a 14 point lead vs Sammy & let them tie and then we lose the game, but are behind by 14 and can't come back to win vs VMI?

3.  Have more yards passing than rushing, and rush for less than 100 yards vs VMI?

Why do we play a hurt QB who is very limited in what he can do offensively compared to before GT?

He said in the press conference today that he is not limited.

At the end, BT also mentioned that Keyonte Sessions is suspended for "violation of team rules".

I hate to second guess the HC but anyone who saw that game could tell 16 was far from 100 percent.   He hasn't been 100 percent or close to it since the GT facefask play where he was injured.  He is a shadow of the player he was last season and before the injury.

Compare his stats....it is a stark difference.

All press conferences and Wed night coaches show are live and archived on YouTube.

Thanks for posting EC123. I was disappointed in the press conference. I felt that BT did not address any specifics on how we will get better getting running the ball. My take away is that teams are stacking the box and it’s more difficult. I support these kids 100% and I know they are playing their butts off but just a little bumfuzzeled with the overall demeanor of the presser. Just got to do better won’t work.

Teams have been "stacking the box" against us for years, daring us to beat them with the pass.  We couldn't pass effectively, so we continued to pound defenses with the run & said "we're going to run the ball.  Stop us if you can".

We finally have a decent passing game to compliment the run, so why all of a sudden is it so difficult for us to run the last 2 games if Rainey is truly 100% & not "limited" in what he can do?

I am interested as to why as prohibitive favorites, playing a rivalry game at home—we decided to go so much to the pass? The short offensive drives by Citadel gave VMI more opportunities on Offense and put wear and tear on our Defense.

When we’re a favorite, we simply need to play our game—especially at home. If we’re floundering with Plan A at the half....make adjustments and try our hand at passes, gadget plays etc in the final two quarters.

I don’t think BT’s MO is ever to pass. Most likely the pass heavy offense as of late is a counterpart of injured qb, freshman b back, and also probably because the defense is giving it to us.

If we could get the run game truly going, we’d be tough to stop on offense. But it’s just not there yet... have we had any long runs this year? 35+ yds?

I get your point, but even the broadcasters were saying...."you're a running team....running the ball pretty well in the 2nd half.....so run the ball"....with the occasional pass to catch them off guard. We scored on our first possession n the 2nd half to cut the lead to 24-14 with what looked like a standard TO scheme with a couple of passes mixed in. I said "Whew...we're done experimenting....now we're back on track."

Next drive we get into VMI territory and put ourselves behind the chains with two straight passes yielding a 4th and 8 with no hope of going for it to continue a drive--and keep momentum.  After that, VMI put up a FG and the rest is history.

Finally, if the QB has a bad wheel and can't drive and plant--put in the back up (who supposedly has a better arm if you HAD to go to the pass).  OBTW Murdaugh is the ONLY QB on the roster with a complete-game victory to his credit (Chas So).

Go Dogs!
