just listened to the Grayline with Kyle, Jeff and Duggar. It is a good one with good insight from all 3. Can't wait to see who pics up the slack this weekend at the tourney.

I wish him well wherever his path takes him.

Interesting that transferring schools is very common in the sport of Division I basketball, not just at The Citadel.  According to the NCAA, about 40% of all MBB players who enter Division I directly out of high school depart their initial school by the end of their sophomore year.

Link to the entire article re: transfers below.  Good quick read.

I remember him. I wonder what he would have become.

Basketball seems to be the hardest place for us to keep cadets. Some time after Coach Nesbit left we just bled talent year after year. Conroy was able to hang on to a few, but overall it seems as though we have a lot of attrition in basketball

I agree Cid1990 but if you read the article earlier over 40% of the division 1 basketball players transfer.  It is a much different world than we grew up in.

Given the coddled undisciplined kids of the current generation it's no surprise a military school would have a problem keeping athletes; keep in mind the overall attrition of our knob classes still runs 35-40%

I don't think that is true. My understanding is that our freshman retention rate exceeds 80%.

Note OVERALL attrition, I was referring to the rate over 4 years. The 40% transfer rate that cid68 refers to is over the period of a players eligibility not per year.

Parks returns to SOCON to finish his basketball career with the Bulldogs. Samford Bulldogs.

Per twitter and Jeff Hartsell he may get a waiver and play immediately. I wonder what the grievance was with Tenn Tech that allows him to get a waiver.

Should have to sit out a year after transferring from Tn-Martin. Otherwise, throw the transfer rules out the window.

The more you quit the easier it gets to quit is the old adage. Looks like it is right.
