Any chance the DAWGs find their shooting touch (which has been absent all of 2019) and steal a win today?

Don’t think 26 points in the half is a shooting touch. Tie game though.

Both teams playing like they only have 5 SOCON wins between them.  DAWGs still can't shoot worth a crap.  Only 2 of 10 from 3.  Mercer has made more 3s than us, but they've taken and missed more FTs.  That's what's keeping us in the game.

Good win by the Dogs on the road!  Sweep Mercer, and fall out of last place.  Guess Baucom won't get the win, since he was suspended for the two technical last game.
So, does Asst Coach get a D1 win on his record in a case like that?

Way to go Dogs!

In Lew we trust, as he had over 1/3 of the Bulldogs' points (Stallworth with 27 points; rest of the team 40) in a 67-61 win!

If Mercer could have made their FTs & shot half way decent, different outcome. Fortunately for us, Mercers' shooting is worse than ours, especially from the FT line.

We had one short stretch int he 2nd half, where we made 3 triples in a row to go from down by 1 to an 8 point lead.

A win is a win, but can't say we played particularly well in any phase of the game.

Too many TOs (17), poor shooting (us - 42%; them - 35%; 3 PT shooting: us - 32%; them - 28%) , trouble making FTs (us - 15 of 23; them - 12 of 27).  Good thing for us that Mercer was worse than us in those areas (except TOs).

I’ve watched all season as the same four guys run down our players and our program. Please understand that our team and coaches read these posts and there’s no reason for the ridicule. Do you think for ONE SECOND the players want to miss shots? Do you think for ONE SECOND that the coaches aren’t doing everything in their power to win? You constantly negative posters ARE NOT true Citadel Fans. I, for one, cherish watching The Bulldogs play their hearts out and know that the they’re ALL outstanding STUDENT ATHLETES that will do GREAT THINGS in their lives!

We don't shoot well, play very little defense and get blown out alot. Don't care about their feelings. Post some wins and we will see what their feelings are then. Fortunately, we ran into a team that shot worse than us and we got a win. At least 3 of our final six are winnable. Only a game and a half out of sixth so as to avoid play-in game. Go Dogs!

As a Citadel Alumnus AND Citadel sports fan, no disagreement from me here - BUT

Coach B. is PAID to win games - not happening.

Players are PAID (via their scholarship for a FREE college education) to win games - not happening.

Just like in any career/job, results are what counts/matters.  On the basketball court - NOT HAPPENING!

and if you think that some of us just "run down our players and our program", I suggest you go back and read our posts from Nov & Dec for basketball and after the Alabama game in football.

Speaking of the  Alabama FB game:  I flew across the country to go to that game.  Were you even there????  If so, good for you.

Finally, I suggest you focus your attention on the lack of support from the Corps of Cadets & not us Alumni.  At least we care enough to pay attention.

Coach B and staff are doing all they can with the deck stacked against them...coaching at a military school. There is a reason The Citadel has NEVER been to March Madness. All you guys wanting a coaching change... tell me... Who are you going to get that cares as much as this staff AND with their understanding/background in this type of situation? Same staff and team that beat USF among others. I’ll be there (like I always am) supporting these guys. As far as looking back at your early season posts... Front runners that probably hurt your ankles falling off the bandwagon and Alabama FB GAME? Yes, was there for the atmosphere and was proud of their effort as well. We have a chance to be .500 in hoops for the first time in a long time. It’d help if “fans” rowed in the same direction...win or lose

This went south quick. Great win tonight and proud of the team. Proud dad, a coach can’t lose every season as this one has and keep his job. Let’s route for a run In the tournament and give him a shot at pulling off the upset.

Proud dad, I'm supposing one of those young men is yours?  If so, proud of you to get him where he's at and proud that he's a Bulldog.  If you don't have a son on the team, still great, and glad you attend the games and support those boys.

As we'd say in the Army when I was in for those many years, let's take a knee, and please not get too right wrapped up in bickering amongst ourselves.  Nobody has gone off the deep end, and that the great thing about a site like this - we can voice our opinions and it's healthy.  I truly believe that all that get on the site love the Bulldogs and love our men and women, so no question about that.  Some can go all the time to games, some can't (but try to watch online).  Cheeks in the seats to support our teams in person is important and helps them play, but everyone can't make it all the time (though I do say that to have an inward growl about Cid grads that attend Clemson or USC games instead of ours - no problem if we have a bye week, but personal opinion, if you're attending a football game it ought to be the Dogs are in.  Wish all the tailgaters would walk into the stadium too, but different argument for a different day).

Rambling it seems, but ask that we all remember that yes, players and coaches read this site, and that losing is hard for them regardless, and more if your fans bust you out (but no different that any college program).  And from the other side realize that members grumble and discuss opinions/options.  Everyone wants us to win, in every sport.  I celebrate every win, and agonize over every defeat, and know y'all do too.

Repeating the positives points addressed above - looking at records, we can still achieve a wining (over.500) season, and can still get a bye in the tournament.  It's a glass half full scenario and I like it at this stage of the season.  Win total up to 11 - won't get 20 (unless some really crazy happens), but I'll take the winning season.

Go Dogs!  Beat ETSU!
