Final non-SOCON game before conference play starts in earnest.  Need to come out strong & keep the win streak going.

Can't be looking ahead to next week's game w/ Woffy & Vermin.

DAWGs down by 8, 50 - 42 @ the half, after being down by as many as 17, 46 - 29, with 2:30 left in the half.

Longwood is shooting well, 55.9% overall & 47.1% from 3, while we are NOT shooting particularly well, 44.1% overall & only 28.6% from 3.

Need to turn this around in the 2nd half & we'll win going away.

Frierson has not scored & is 0 for 4 from 3.  Needs to hit some 3s to keep his streak alive.

DAWGs lose by 16, 110-94 @ home to a team picked to finish next to last in the Big Suck Conference.  Not a good showing heading in to SOCON play.

They may be picked last but a quick look at their record shows they are not a cupcake

Took one on the chin today. No excuses, but having a 10 day layoff for exams and an 11 day layoff for Christmas is not conducive for a team with momentum. Hopefully we can finish with a good record and get an invite to one of the many, many holiday tournaments next year. 21 days off in December is waaaay too many.

Longwood also beat VMI (down 4 players injured) by 20.....very good shooting 3 point team.....and look at their roster;  at least 7 new JUCO guys, as their new head coach was desperate for a quick fix.....Lancers will finish in Big Suck top five, you watch....

Gee whiz.  Before this week when I saw them on the schedule I had never heard of Longwood, and figured they were a D2 or D3 team.  So I learn that they are Big South but not football of course, and were picked next to last in their conference.  Low and beyond, they beat us by 16 on our court.  That was pretty embarrassing.  Hope things get straightened out before we heard to conference next week.  Scoring 94 is fine, but when you let a team most people probably never heard of score 110 it doesn't work.
Whew.  Time put the positive hat back on.  Let's take Wofford and get back on track.

I was at the game and listen to the coach post game on the radio.  Longwood normally shots 28% from 3 and shot over 50%.  We made big comeback from being down 14 got up by three.  Then they kept hitting threes, our offense was OK though we shot poorly from three. The big thing on defense was their spot up shooters were terrific if they swung it and not covered.  Hard to win when the other teams shoots over 20% better than you from three.  They also shot 56% from the floor and we shot 42%, think we had some rust on us.

Again,

Longwood has a good basketball team

We still should have been able to beat them but they are not/not a tune-up team

I think Longwood had one of them days today. Man, they were draining crazy threes.
