You have to get the points when you go first in OT.

The coaches LOST this game. The playcalling was pathetic. Playcalling to not lose never wins you the game

What's up with Sessions (didn't play vs CSU either) and Campbell?

Take the 3 in the fourth OT and it frees up the defense to make plays without having their backs up against the wall. 4th down calls this game were questionable.

Not sure I understand the “coach was playing not to lose” talk. What I saw was we were playing a lot of man coverage and bringing pressure most plays on D.....BUT you have to make the tackles in open space and sacks when you have your hands on the QB to close the game out leading by 14. In OT.....continued to bring pressure on D and went for the yardage on several times on 4th down when on offense.....even with our QB on one bad wheel

Believe we were plenty aggressive....just didn’t make the plays on D late in the 4th qtr.

Very astute observation. Explains why you wear stars!!  We missed way too many tackles.  Consistent theme in all 5 games so far.

Also, too many penalties.  Samford gave us points with their own stupid penalties that kept drives alive when we were stopped & they were going to get the ball.

I’m not talking end of the game defense I’m talking about the much too conservative play calling on offense when we went up by 14.

Also, what’s with our B-back, on most plays, dropping their heads and looking at the ground as soon as they get the ball in their hands?
Plenty of runs could have gone for long gains if they had just looked up to see where they were going.

And how about sliding occasionally

The biggest thing I question about the coaching (and this is purely armchair perspective) is leaving Rainey in the game on a bad wheel. We were extremely limited on offense with Rainey’s injury.

Question: do you want a defensive football player that can tackle and hit or someone that runs a great straight line 40 and can not tackle and scared to tackle and hit? asking for a friend

Funny how scholarships are given to guys good at the underwear Olympics but not real football players. Could be the tackling issue?
