Some good info is in this article about how the pick the top teams ...

https://www.anygivensaturday.com/showthread.php?238904-NCAA-FCS-Selection-Committee-NCAA-By-Laws-amp-the-SRS-Basics

The FBS win will be huge for our points if we go 7-5

Also our strength of schedule is #5 in the nation which will help as well.

Go 2-0 and none of this matters . Go 0-2 and we have no chance . Go 1-1 and we will be on the bubble and the FBS win could just be the dfifferece !

NCAA DI Football Championship Committee's first top 10 FCS rankings is out - and Furman is in it. It definitely should help us.

Also need Towson- Elon  to finish strong and get in the bracket.  Then our only 2 other losses would be to 500 FCS teams Samford and VMI.  Sure hope the SU game is not the difference in making it and not making it as a 4OT game is a crapshoot!

Beat woffy and we also have 2 wins over FCS Top 25 teams, along with close losses to 2 more. At 8-4 even if we don't win the SoCon we should be a lock for an at-large, 7-5 is iffy.

The only P5 win in FCS carries some weight with the committee given their rules from what I understand.  Some sites say we stand a chance to get it in at 7-5.

Well common sense says strength of schedule has to be a major factor; of course there is much subjectivity and bias with any selection committee. And of course it will also depend on the final records of other non conference winners, lots of competition for those at large slots and I recall a pretty small number of 7 win teams getting a bid in recent years.

I think the SoCon will get 2 teams in. I do not see any scenario where we drop one of our next two games and get in. If we beat Chatty and Wofford beats Furman and then we lose to Wofford in the season finale I think the committee will still send Furman as the at large and we will get Woffed.

We need to win out.
