Not sure how we got signed on for back to back games on the road. We’re 2 for 16 in the first half from 3 pt. Down 28-10 with 4 min to go in the first. Shooting like crap. Luck IL is shooting poorly too or we would be down 35-40 right now. Dogs trail 28-10.

The Dogs are tired... especially the ones down low trying to guard a 7 foot 290 pound mountain that Illinois has in the post...

Courtside we look like our bench complains every trip. Illinois might be big but they’re way below average for the Big 10. 34-20@ half is terrible both ways. Our experienced guys simply haven’t produced...sad to say, and no Brown hurts.

Announcers say we have one of our better scorers on the bench with a hammy tweak. Dogs down 34-20 at half. Shot a little better at the end of the half. Refs letting UofI rough us up down low a little bit.

Come out hot in the 2nd Dogs!

The foul disparity is pretty glaring. Not to say our squad isn’t fouling but the refs are definitely giving a home whistle tonight...

It’s body size...not the refs. Harris competing...others have not. Call it what it is. Mismatch and a payday. Illinois will be in bottom 4 in Big Ten. Dogs 10 wins max once they get back in their lane. This road trip is a good measuring stick without any stress from road crowd...since there wasn’t anyone in the arena with last night or tonight

Not close but officials are giving the home team a generous whistle. That flop tech was BS. Plus Uof I big man slams Harris on his drive - no call. Traveling is only called on the boys in blue. Orange team is dragging pivot feet and taking 3 steps all over the place.

Not disputing that. And I think anyone who’s seen me post on here over the last 10 years knows I’m not a whine about the officiating guy. But I’m watching on tv. There’s definitely been some plays they’re whistling on one end and not the other. At one point the foul disparity was 16-6. Only pointing out a fact. Certainly never implied that’s why this game is going the way it is.

Regardless of all that, we are not making shots, which happens more often than not with this team.  This is a typical game for us against a power 5 or top 25 team.

Illinois clears their bench for the last minute, playing walk ons who still beat us.  DAWGs lose by 28, 85 - 57.

Ugly, ugly, ugly game by the DAWGs.  Anybody that watched have any positives, other than a paycheck?

We used to lose these games by 40+ points, so I guess losing by 28 is a positive, but then Illinois is not a very good team. They've beaten Nicholls State by 8, 78-70, Grand Canyon by 12, 83-71, Hawaii by 13, 66-53 & us (all at home), while they lost in Tucson by 21, 90-69 to #21 ranked Arizona.

As I said, Illinois is bad for a Big Ten team. Playing back to back games is tough if you have a good team...we simply don’t. Harris showed up...little else. I’d think Brown will be back in 7-10 days. We probably lose to Marist and beat D3 Brevard. Still think more than 10 wins probably won’t happen but hope I’m wrong.

Typical Big Ten game. They just pound away and the refs have been calling games like this for years.  Very physical league. Experience, paycheck and on to Marist who beat VMI 58-56 two weeks ago.
