I saw a copy of the Corps schedule. Someone posted it somewhere. It is not something I would normally keep up with as I don’t have a kid in the Corps. Anyway, it shows the cadets leaving the Friday evening before the game. I was told that this is in direct violation of BOV policy while also being a terrible decision by the powers that be. Can anyone confirm this? Should I care? “Back when I was a cadet”, we didn’t get out until the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Anyway, I am going pen to paper if true, not that it will matter. I am sure the school saves money by sending cadets home so it is no surprise this is happening.

Common practice now with colleges is for "Thanksgiving Break" to be an entire week, like "Spring Break".  Don't know when this started, but back in my day (1977-1981) "Thanksgiving Break" started after your last class the day before Thanksgiving and ended at midnight the following Sunday.

Unfortunately, the SOCON dictates the schedule for home & away.  This was not of the AD or school's choosing:

Its a bunch of horseshot. Its one day they could easily keep them over. But I guess we will make the best of it. Everyone seems resigned to it.

84 we played one against NCA&T and that was on the Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend. Youngstown the corps was back. So when was the 2nd home game in 92 with no corps.

92’ played with only nine on each side and one hand tied behind their backs. Its legendary. 😉

Ask this guy, he picked the AD, he should also know why the Corps won't be at the Wofford game.

My guess is that the school put together the Academic Calendar BEFORE the SOCON released the FB schedule for conference games.

One way to get the Corps top really love the football team  is to hold them over for a day.

It is probably too late change the leave so that they leave after the Wofford game.  Come back on Monday, get same number of days off and those flying will get a much better deal on flying the Monday after Thanksgiving than the Sunday after.

It is a terrible look for a host of reasons. Just to list a few...

1) It flies in the face of a policy directive from the Board of Visitors, one that was unanimous; anyone can access the minutes from the BOV meeting that discussed the matter, so it isn't like this was a big secret.

2) One of the reasons people attend our games in the first place is because the corps is part of the show; this devalues the gameday experience to a significant degree.

3) The football schedule was released in January. There was plenty of time to adjust the 2019-20 academic calendar after that. The fact this didn't happen suggests that the current administration is not particularly interested in supporting varsity athletics.

Note: If the current administration is in fact sincerely interested in supporting varsity athletics, this is a funny way to go about demonstrating it.

You and BravoBeach need to get yer heads out of each other's rectum...In 92, for some unknown reason, we had a fall break.  We played the Newberry game WITHOUT the Corps.  Now get on yer knees and kiss my white a$$ and the you can resume yer regular position(s).

Im shur Spike will tell me Im wrong

I posed this question to our CAA District Director.  He asked & got a response from the CAA Exec, Tom McCallister.  His answer was:

"If the BOV has a problem with this, they will take action."

In other words, CAA is saying "not our problem".

So who is the proper party to raise this issue to?
