The default answer is "Hey we are getting field turf after the last game!!"

The honest answer is we just don't have the money for the East Stands right now to do it.

I think if we could find the owner of the project then that would be a good first step.  One of
these guys should know something.

Hell it could be nicer than the home stands.

Given the location there is certainly a way to pull this off but it will take some vision.

I appreciate where you’re coming from. Maybe it’s just me watching the “revitalization” of the State Hospital property around a minor league park in Columbia that makes me A little nervous about public/private partnerships.

We need 3,000 stands, that could be expanded, with good landscaping, adequately sized and appealing concessions and restrooms. THATS IT!

I’m hearing the price tag for that is somewhere around $2.5M. We can do that with a decent campaign. We also need to replace the scoreboard/video board. I’m hearing that’s another $1M

I would think 3.5M is doable with some effort.  what would the city of Charleston benefit from this?  Why cant we ask them to appropriate some of its tourism revenue to this effort, as it will bring in more of that color of money with a better stadium.  Just thinking out loud, as i am also tired to watching game while looking at rec league metal bleachers for a FCS competitive program.  It has been 3 years and no improvements... sort of sad.

You are spot on about the City of Charleston.

Tourism revenue is off the charts.

The State is sitting on 2 billion that they don't know how to spend.

seems whom ever is making these decisions on behalf of the school isn't savvy on how Gov-F/S/L allocates money and at the end of the FY MUST Spend it!  Pray that I am wrong on this assumption.  I hope that there are meetings being conducted between the school and entities such as the city and state to leverage funds.. hope is a strong word.

Again another Alumni pissed we are into this 3 years and nothing has been done other than a jump castle, a beer garden, and some crappy temp bleachers.
