To show support for The Citadel Bulldogs both on and off the playing fields the school will be holding a competition between battalions. Each battalion will be assigned one home basketball game, and attendance for Fourth Class Cadets will be mandatory. They will be required to sign in to the game and stay for the duration. The game for Upper class cadets is optional. However, the battalion with the most upper-class cadets in attendance, who are signed in, and stay for the duration of the game, provide the most support for the team, cheer the loudest and have the most creative posters, a PT pass for one week will be awarded to the game attendees. Commanders are required to attend except for special orders. Enthusiasm and creativity will be judged, and a winner will be determined after the last home game.
IE: Athletic Director Mike Capaccio said that it was the Regimental Commander’s idea to start this competition to get Cadets to come to basketball games. Sarah Zorn born in Florida, raised in Aiken, S. C. is on a full Army ROTC Scholarship, and the first female Regimental Commander in the history of The Citadel.
