This week, I would like to ask about the two-point conversion attempt against Charleston Southern. What was the rationale behind going for two in that situation?

Thanks.

To make it a two possession game. I understood the move. Ended up getting the 2pc a few minutes later anyway

Can you ask the Evil Genius if the throw to the fullback in the middle of the field is still in our arsenal?

I can also diagram him a throwback to the tight end that Don Powers lived off of in the red zone.

"I can also diagram him a throwback to the tight end that Don Powers lived off of in the red zone."

This is an inside joke for the guys that were around during Don's era. Not a serious question. LOL

cumbee,

Do you mean let us make one and force them to make two, 2pt conversions? If we miss, it’s still 14 pt lead?

I should have sent this question up for Coach T. We had several drives thwarted due to chop blocks and blocks in the back. I know the T O is vulnerable to these types of calls. My question would have been what are we doing about reducing outside blocking penalties.

Did he answer any of the questions that we asked? I did hear Rainey was well before I lost the connection.

Very interesting discussion of analytics (which was at times hard to understand because the connection was bad). He sort of answered the question about the two-point play, though I really would like to see the analysis that says it is the correct percentage play. I am dubious.

He was not asked about throwing over the middle to the tight end. Perhaps they wanted to slow-play that suggestion, and save it to unleash on Furman.

Sorry about the audio issues. I assume it was with the Youtube stream? We were unaware of any problems and will try to make sure that doesn't occur again in the coming weeks. We did touch on most of what was brought up in here.

Coach discussed the amount of fair catches on kickoff returns, and laid out the thought process behind the 2 point conversion - both of which were/are heavily influenced by the addition of analytics. He did touch on the penalties, briefly, as something they were trying to clean up during the week of practice.

He circled back to that during our pregame interview, as well, which you can hear tomorrow before the game. Pregame coverage will begin at 2 PM ET from the stadium. If you'll be at the game, bring your radio with you - we'll have our FM transmitter set up, allowing you to listen right in the stadium without any sort of delay. Otherwise, if you're watching from home - mute the Samford-slanted broadcast and throw on the radio! We'll (try to) have you covered. Go Dogs! (The true Bulldogs of the Southern Conference, that is...)
