The Brent Thompson Coaches Show returns Wednesday! We'll recap the great win against Georgia Tech and get set for Saturday's rivalry matchup.

7-8 PM at the Marina Variety Store Restaurant and on ESPN Radio 94.7 FM & 910 AM

It can be streamed online here: https://radio.securenetsystems.net/v5/index.cfm?stationCallSign=WTMZ

ALSO: you can submit any questions for Coach (both football or non-football related) right here and we will get to them during the show!

Thanks for getting my question last week.

Can we get a sound cloud clip of some or all of the big calls from the GaTech game because most of us were there and didn't get to listen to the radio?

Now on to my question:

What was the difference in our line play this week vs. the first two weeks. It was much improved I thought.

I know it is unlikely, but if the radio call of the game were available "on demand" somewhere, that would be greatly appreciated.

---

My question would relate to this week's opponent. Charleston Southern now runs the "Air Raid", apparently. How do we practice against it during the week? Do we have scout team capability in that respect?

I believe Remus is one of if not the fastest player on the team....Do you tell him to fair catch the KO returns or is that his call?  At GT it appeared he had room to get past the 25, but signaled for the fair catch every time.  Shouldn't we be taking some chances for a big play in the return game with his speed?

And yes a podcast of the games would be great!

I'm still worried about our defense.

GT had an inconsistent passing game against us when their throwing QB was in the game. Was that a function of our new defense improving, or a function of Tech struggling on offense?

Can you explain why we looked so bad at Elon while we look so good at GT?

Surely GT has better players than Elon?

Appreciate the questions. We'll try to get to more in future weeks, there was a lot to cover last night.

In regards to the radio broadcast, I appreciate the interest! Unfortunately, due to some technical issues back at the station, it seems as if we do not have an archived copy of the GT game. Sadly, that broadcast may be lost forever. But we can release podcast versions or highlights of future games.

As I always encourage everyone: bring your radios with you and listen at the games! [smile] We also have an FM transmitter on site at all games that allows you to listen to the broadcast without a delay (can even listen on a radio at road games, despite being out of the Lowcountry). Go Dogs!

From the P&C:

Fair-catch fever

• Astute Citadel fans have noticed that the Bulldogs are calling for a fair catch on a larger number of kickoff returns this season. Thompson explains the strategy:

“The number say that if you put your heels on the 5-yard line, anything you catch in front of the 5-yard line, you’ve got a 60-something percent of taking it beyond the 25-yard line,” he said. “Anything inside the 5-yard line, your chances go down to 30 percent.

“So we’ve been playing the percentages on that, and we thought it best to play the numbers in that case.”

over under on Remus Bulmer taking one to the house this year on a KO?  I say he will against a SOCON team most likely!

One a side i had the chance to meet him at the Dog Pound during a workout there.  He is a stand up solid guy.  Excited he got in the endzone for us a couple of times last weekend.  I foresee this happening more this season!

I thought Remus has a seam Saturday night but it closed quickly and forced him to the middle of the field. It won't be long til he takes one across the 50. This weekend would be a good start.

Remus has the speed to get outside and can change direction quickly. He’ll find the end zone a few more times once we open up that triple option.

Would like to see more of our guys cut back when they feel that seam. Remus can shake and is elusive. Good in the open field

Due to 16 being hurt we got away from the option and relied on 5 and back up qb to ram into the line. We should be back this week to true triple option football !

If coach is taking questions this week ask him what happened to the all star backup QB from savannah ?

Why is he no longer at QB?

Redshirt freshman Javonte Middleton has moved to cornerback, where he’s listed as a backup to starter Lane Botkin.

He's the kid from Savannah, and I guess Murdaugh and Schickel have a better grasp of running the offense than he did.
