If D B breaks even then he should be the National Coach Of The Year.

UNC-Asheville, Campbell and SEMO will be a good early season litmus test for this team.
Hope the grad transfers contribute.

The biggest ? is how many does he need to win to renew his contract?

If he wins 10-12 and is competitive in most of the games then he MAY get an extension...maybe.

In the past, new coaches were initially given a 5 year contract.  Then every year that the team wins the majority of the games against D-1 (FCS for FB, all D-1 for other sports), the coach is given a 1 year extension.

If the school is still following this model, then DB needs to finish above .500 against D-1 competition to get a 1 year extension, otherwise he is gone since he has not finished above .500 in the previous 4 years.

The SoCon looks to be tough again. I hope we pull of some magic but we lost a lot from last year...

agree with 81, nothing less than .500 saves his job. Unfortunately with a very young team I just don't have much confidence in that happening and he has made no progress thus far; next big question - is Ed ready for an encore?
