Wow - this was amazing.  If I was required to learn about LTC Register as a knob 45 years ago I didn't remember it.  Particularly poignant with current events.  Thank you for sharing!!!

This has never been mentioned in any school histories, it was Scott Woodard who resurrected the story while going through the files of the Army Medical Department in San Antonio. Until more recently most didn't even know we had alumni who were members of the Flying Tigers and Doolittle Raiders; the CAA and school administration have been sadly negligent in promoting our amazing history.
