He started in the Orange Bowl and gets a ring for Miami winning their half of the ACC but I wonder if he improved his lot with the transfer. It took courage to do what he did and I'm proud of him but maybe he was exposed a bit. Last night I thought he played ok. He is a great tackler and gets after the run. He was burnt on the TD pass but it was a bang bang play. He was hurdled by the FB but I guess that can happen to anybody, kinda like when Andre Roberts was plastered by the punter on that run back last year.

If he had stayed at The Citadel, I think we would have won another game or two, particularly the Wofford game. Dee was missed. Again hats off to his courage and moxy for going to the ACC. He will get a shot I hope he makes it.

I still say he would have been the #1 FCS pick in the draft if he had stayed with us (some media were predicting 2nd or 3rd round), and I seriously don't think he did enough to make at Miami.  Really pulling for him, but afraid that he made an NFL career changing move by going there.

Kinda what I figured about media recognition on his ties to Cid.  When he got the fumble (or one of the other plays, can't remember), the announcer called him a 5th year senior, no mention of his transfer.  If he goes in the draft, it's gonna say that that he is a Miami player.  Not really important in the grand scheme of things, but his grooming and preparation came from The Citadel.

Good luck Dee, sincerely hope you are drafted.

I’m no expert but my gut says I don’t think he helped himself.....the only question is did he do harm to his chances with the NFL?

We will certainly know more when compared to other players at the combine (I assume he will get an invitation).

Regardless, I hope he finishes out that masters degree at Miami....combined with his bachelors from El CID, he will have a really good educational foundation for a young man in his early 20s if the NFL doesnt’ work out.

He still has all the intangibles that would have gotten him drafted out of the Citadel. He proved he could play at a higher level competition. He didn’t do anything to hurt his draft status.

I can hear my high school coach. "KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!" If he said it once he said it a thousand times.

What possessed the kicker from Wofford to transfer to Georgia, Blankenship was money all night in the NC.

I would guess ego, pride and self-glorification.

He thought he could beat out Blankenship, but Blankenship improved so much especially on deep kickoffs, did not work out him.  Wofford kid is going to med school.

If I'm not mistaken, we offered Blankenship a scholarship out of high school.
