He's obviously better than Leckonby but that's not saying much.

I agree he had a lot of enthusiasm when he first took over but that is expected.

He's not happy here or else he wouldn't be looking for other opportunities.

Time to find someone who WANTS to be here.

Different people have said he isn't happy here.  I doubt that is true.  I would guess that he would get a significant raise if he took the job, would be at a FBS school and if things went well there would have a chance to go to even a bigger place in a few years.  That is the way these jobs work if you want to advance.  How many of us would not look at a chance to accomplish this advancement in our own careers if we had a chance.  Most of us on this site think The Citadel is a wonderful place but it is also just a place of employment for many others.  Doesn't not mean they are not great at their job and won't keep doing a good job while they have the job.

Keeping your eyes out for a promotion doesn't mean you're unhappy with your current situation, it just means you're upwardly mobile in your field.  Houston was happy here.....but he got offered a more lucrative deal at JMU.

A well respected and sought after professional (like J. Senter) is the type of AD we want.  We don't want a Road Program AD (Road=Retired on Active Duty) who is satisfied just being in Charleston.... cashing a check and swilling beer w/alumni.

If we lose our current AD, I hope we're able to get one of similar quality as a back-fill.

Give 'Em Hell Citadel.....Go Dogs!

Well, we all know that Felina was quite the temptress...

Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina
Wicked and evil while casting a spell
My love was deep for this Mexican maiden
I was in love, but in vain I could tell

I’m looking at this with some facts:

He lives in Charleston SC. Lots of fun, and things to do. Good communities and place to raise a family. He’s also making well over $150,000 a year here probably with some other Beni’s. You can live pretty good in the Lowcountry making $150,000 with State benis. Just moved into a brand new house a year ago.

So on the horizon is El Paso Texas. Known for tumbleweeds, dirt, mountains, MS13, human trafficking across the border, and English as a 2nd language.
If you want to go somewhere to spend some of that extra scratch you made with the promotion, then you’ll probably have to take not 1 but 2 flights to get there. There is a positive. No state income taxes in Texas instead of 7% after deductions in SC.

I agree successful guys move up and look to move up. But he’ll have the shortest tenure in Citadel AD history if he leaves now. UTEP doesn’t seem like a move up. It almost looks like an emergency parachute to take.

Very nice guy .
He talked to our table  of MOC fans for about 10 minutes.

70K a year pay raise and a large FBS schol, as with coaches the upward mobility is a no brainer

Interesting stat I heard in Greenville Friday night. UTEP's athletic department lost over $20 million last year.

Also understand his contract with us runs out soon and the administration has not offered a new contract. That's nuts!

Sounds like he would be inheriting a big mess, wonder if the 70-80K raise would be worth it

Bigger question....why haven't we offered him an extension of his contract? Sounds like he is forced into looking.

Rosa is probably leaving it for the new President to decide.
