Had to re-check the SoCon POTY 3 out of the last 5 years and it was Austin Pritcher that I couldn't remember.

Spike I saw where Mike Gaski was the 2011 Coach of the Year but that it was later vacated, is there a story there?

No. His honor was not vacated, but Samford's 2011 title was.

Skole from ETSU, Powell from N. Greenville confirmed to interview.

I like the idea of having a coach that participated in the College World Series.  It's instant "cred" while recruiting - especially if that coach did it at the Citadel.  It's a lot easier to convince a top recruit that it's possible to go "bigtime" if that person has done it.  However, Powell's record is impressive.  Turned a team around, right age to relate to players.  Just a "stepping stone" - who knows?

Not in love with Skole. Love that he is part of the citadel and baseball history but his track record is not impressive. Particularly in the recruiting area where obstacles are far less than what the next citadel coach has to complete against.

Elton Pollock is on the radar also. Not impressed when I have met Elton and some of his former players didn't feel he was enough of a players coach but he may have matured since then. His wife is a Dr. and the word was that PC hired him because he wouldn't move while his wife was making the doctor dollars.

I have a feeling that Skole will be the next coach.  Seems like a hard-nosed but well liked coach for the most part.  Most players expect that.  Record is not overly impressive but lot of positive intangibles. I'd like to see Vrable return as hitting coach - did a great job the short time he was here.  Reames should return as pitching coach.

I hope the interview process produces a clear favorite. Skole is the emotional pick, but a below .500 record in 18 years is tough to overcome. Powell has proven to turn around a program, but is not likely looking for a long term stay at The Citadel. Pollock lives in Columbia while working at PC - don't think this is viable for our job.

The search committees credetials for the next head coach were very clear.

Only 1 of these guys hits on every bullet point.

Landon will be HC before this weekend .

Landon is my pick.

Hope he can bring a good hitting coach with him.

I don't believe LP has enough experience to be a head coach at USC.

USC would not consider a d2 coach with 3 years total coaching experience .

Holbrook will be at coc by next week .
