So when do we do like the Gamecocks and start 50 new threads about who our next baseball Coach will be (even though Admin hasn't said they were firing anyone)?

I would allow Coach Jordan to retire due to his Overall Body if Work, albeit, he hasn't done well the last six years.

Completely disagree. The baseball program has declined dramatically over the past several years and Fred clearly does not have a successful plan to reverse the decline.

A lot of people put a lot of money into the programs and should see better returns than they've been getting. The Citadel owes Fred nothing, particularly a sympathy contract extension simply because he managed to hang around well beyond his sell-by date.

There ain't no participation trophies in college baseball.

As far as The Citadel not owing Coach Jordan anything, I respectfully disagree. He has been loyal to our School. He's family and probably could have left but didn't. With that being said, The won loss record does leave much to be desired.

FJ's contract ends this year, probably soon after the season. We do not owe him any contract extension. My guess is he will be allowed to resign and with that, forgotten about very quickly. He has been well paid over the years and Citadel has been more than patient with him. Keep in mind Clemson showed Jack Leggett the door for poor performance. FJ's entire body of work is not in the same galaxy with Leggett's. How is it working out for Clemson now?

So who is next man up if Jordan is done?
Current AC or reach for some new blood outside the program . Hopefully he and Senter have already come to a logical conclusion and Senter has already a good idea of whom he wants .

Looks like the cocks are in the same boat in a few weeks .

If by loyal you mean hanging around for a paycheck, yeah, he's been loyal.

I wonder exactly where you think he could have gone. I don't recall any other programs beating down his door to hire him.

If we go in house, I'm not all that stoked about Coach Beckley taking over. I'd say go for an accomplished D2 Coach. This worked extremely well for our Football program.

In house is not what JS is likely to do, in other words, clean house.  There is some talent to build around but new coach will have a long way to go player wise before we are competitive again.

This program has been driven into the dirt and it is going to take a while to get back to where we are used to being

It's depressing really
