Former Citadel football player and assistant coach Maurice Drayton has signed with the NFL's Green Bay Packers as an assistant coach.Drayton reports to work Monday and will serve as a special-teams assistant coach for the Packers, he said Thursday.

This is the same position he had w/ the Colts (Assistant Special Teams Coach) - per the Colts website:

Seems more like a lateral move to me, as opposed to "moving up the chain".

Anyway, Congrats on the new position!!!!!

It is an upward move. He will be working for one of the best if not the best organization in the NFL for former Illinois and Florida head coach Ron Zook the Packers special teams coordinator. Think about what he will learn from him and the contacts he will get. You never know what could happen to a first time NFL assistant after his head coach gets fired but it speaks to Maurice's talents that he got picked up by an organization as great as the Green Bay Packers. It looks like the previous Green Bay special-teams assistant is going to be a position coach for the Packers. So Maurice's future is bright.

Remember Kevin Higgins had a four year stint as a position coach in the NFL and was not retained and never got another look from the league.

"moving up the chain"??!!  WTF?  Where was he gonna move?  The whole staff got fired.
