don't believe Candeto has been completely ruled out, no one has announced a list of finalists yet and the search committee appears to still be conducting interviews with all the applicants.  Taaffe is clearly out and Sands apparently so.

I think it would be very negligent of our AD (what else is new) if he does not interview a couple of grad coaches or former coaches. That does not mean he should hire them, nor is he wasting anyone's time. One of the great things about the hiring process is that you get the opportunity to pick the brains of a wide variety of folks, most of whom you would never otherwise get an audience with. Much can be gained from sitting down with guys who have the unique perspective of the pros and cons of our program. I would ask them what they liked, didn't like, and what they would do that would make a difference. Many of those insights could be used in questioning the finalists. It is not a waste of time for the grad candidates either. Not only do they get valuable HC interviewing experience, but they also get to show on their resumes that they were interviewed for a HC job, which means they were highly thought of. The AD is on salary, so it is not a waste of his time. It is his job. While we all, on here, may be enlightened, there are many alumni and former players who will feel that the AD has slighted the alumni by not having the courtesy to interview one or two. We have several very qualified grads who fit the bill that would probably love to be invited back for an interview.

Yes, Mark Wayne Clark is nostalgia.  If he was present he would not allow an LGBT workshop in an auditorium that bears his name.

Yes, Charlie Taaffe is nostalgia, since he bowed out of the only opportunity to "go back to the future" at The Citadel.

Learn from history, don't live it...and when the opportunity presents itself, ridicule and taunt d-bags.

Good search committee...interview the 5 very good candidates...pick 1 and roll on!

LMAO

Hartsell just posted this on P&C website. Looks like we're down to 5 interviews.

surprised by Keeler, wasn't even on the radar until the past 24 hours.  He is a darkhorse, I am betting a pan full of congo bars on Houston.

I'd love to have a congo bar right now. Does anyone have the recipe?

Go Bulldogs!

I answered my own question. From our Sesquicentennial Celebration, here is a recipe for 500 Citadel Congo Bars. Maybe one of our engineering majors can reduce the recipe to something manageable.

just do a google search, there are about a dozen different recipes but all pretty similar.   You can modify to your personal taste, I prefer mine with chopped walnuts and shredded coconut.
