Began season at Navy Invitational and finished 11 out of 12 - ahead of Delaware St by 1 stroke and a mere 143 strokes off the lead. Movin' on up.
I know our ladies try their best, but why golf? Recruiting female golfers to The Citadel would be like recruiting male ballet dancers. Let's find a better match. Rugby? Crew? __________________ Purple Makes Me Puke!

We tell the conference that we are going to start women's basketball unless we get two in the SoCon Hall of Fame. If they don't, we wreck the conference RPI and start women's basketball.

I think there are a much fewer scholarships for golf scholarships than softball and money is a big factor.

Hmm..Doesn't every college/university that offers NCAA sactioned athletic scholarships have to provide the same number of scholarships to male and female students? If so, it could be advantageous for The Citadel's athletic budget to take on a female sport that DOES require more scholarships. From a facilities perspective, it seems to me softball would be easy for The Citadel to implement. I'm not advocating softball at The Citadel, just arguing the cost concern. Reality is probably more complicated than my viewpoint though.

I think scholarships must mirror the % of the student body as a whole. What % of women do we have?

So the more women athletes we have...the more women athletes we have to offer free rides or partial free rides to?
