Of course it's my opinion. And what I think is very unimportant but the purpose of this board serves. Not being mean or snarky just feel very strongly that leaving your teammates to go play for some other team is wrong. I don't get the thinking, it's alien to me and counter to the values of the college. As an AA, his presence will be missed and may result in more losses or injuries.

There are reasons to leave and this isn't one of them. I'm sad about it and I guess heartbroken that #4 will be playing for Miami and not us.

Poor Bobby Q. Go get some signatures on that petition.

I'm not an expert per se. But at the end of the day I'm certainly not a short bus rider like you.

I actually hadn't seen Dee Delany's letter (below), but expect many of you had.  I think that we should look at his thoughts, and how he feels.  Some of us are very disappointed, but the master of one's life is themselves.  I take it to heart that he will always consider himself a Citadel man.

"To The Citadel Community,

I would like to start off by saying thank you to everybody here at The Citadel, especially my coaches and teammates. I had a blast while I was here at The Citadel. As an 18-year-old, coming to The Citadel was a major shock for me. This has been a tough decision for me, but I thought long and hard about it and feel like I am making the right decision for me. My family is behind my decision and also feels the same way.

I will be transferring to the University of Miami to finish up my college football career. I am very grateful for everything I have learned here and will continue to grow as an athlete and person. The Citadel has truly helped me mature and become a better man. The things The Citadel has taught me will never be erased, and I can say have made me a better person. I hope everybody can be happy with the decision I have made and be behind me no matter what.

I love The Citadel and everybody here. I remember my first game I was so nervous, but the coaches were behind me 100 percent. They always had confidence in me, and that was something as a young player I really needed.

In conclusion, I would like to say thank you once again. Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog! CITADEL!!! CITADEL!!! CITADEL!!!

Sincerely,

Dee Delaney"

Evidently....so did the author of our Alma Mater.  No "The's" in the verses there either.  Good enough for me.

I didn't see anything in the article about Dee.  Just info on HS recruits.

HMM.  Sorry 81, the link apparently wasn't the story.  Just talked about Mark R. stating how D was a proven All American, played against big D1s, and that they brought him in to play.
