I hated to lose Pinson as much as anyone. But it doesn't look good to post stuff like a jilted girlfriend. He did so much and I'm thankful for what he did while here.

As to somehow he could've improved his draft status by returning next year.....

The young man won The Jacobs Blocking Trophy and is an all American. What else could he do more individually by coming back next year? For his personal play it could be argued he's hit the ceiling less adding weight to his frame. There's probably a bigger chance he could come back and not win Jacobs and be an all-American. Who knows what other up and comers across FCS would fight him for those awards next year.

Pinson and Delaney just show how far we have come. Success brings a whole new set of problems. In your wildest dreams did you think we would have FBS schools poaching our guys and guys giving up eligibility to try to make it in the NFL? I sure have not considered that before now.

I've said it before, but will mention again that Dee may have great success and go higher in the draft than he would have, but what I fear is that instead of being the #1 D-back in FCS on everyone's radar that he becomes a bit player in the larger program and then goes undrafted.  There is no guarantee that he'll start.  With us, he plays every down, plays the National Champs (which UM will also of course) and would hopefully shine in the playoffs for 2-3 extra games.  The big fish in the small pond.  He's rolling the dice in my mind, but I sincerely hope he does well.
I really think that when he goes to the combine and gets drafted though, they'll list him as U of M, not Cid.  [frown]

I did my four years at The Citadel and graduated. Then did my masters elsewhere because it was free and it was the best financial decision for me. Seems like some of you would say I lack loyalty because I did not attend The Citadel Graduate College and take out loans.

Good for Dee. I wish him the best and don't care where the combine will list him from. I care that he says, "The Citadel" when he is a starter on Monday Night Football.

I feel with the talent we have behind Dee we will be fine, I worry about the O Line. The D Line generated good pressure most of the year which helps db's as much as anything.

I agree with Huntingman on the big fish small pond theory.

XTOR YOU WERENT RECRUITED TO THE CITADEL AND DIDNT GET A FULL RIDE EITHER, ITS A MAJOR STRETCH TO COMPARE YOURSELF TO DELANEY. AND I SERIOSLY DOUBT HE WILL INTRODUCE HIMSELF AS COMING FROM THE CID.

So if Delaney makes it to the NFL or combine and the graphic says he went to The Citadel, I will eat my hat.

Still can't believe he is leaving. Just gross poor.

Agree. I'm in the opinion that he should have stayed. But my opinion and .50 cents won't get you a cup of coffee.

See. Like a jilted girlfriend. ^^^^^^

If he doesn't intro himself as being from The Citadel, then that's his decision. But further more I don't sit around and worry about things that haven't happened yet like you do.

Best wishes to him. Why don't we all focus on who's here now?

How?????  He spent 4 years at The Citadel & earned his degree.  While WE might not agree or like his decision, it is not ours to make.  He did not "quit" on his team or our school.  He did all that was required of him.

That's your opinion. You and I aren't in the locker room. I'll let he and his former teammates sort that out. His teammates may be totally ok with it for all we know.
