I can't believe he is leaving his teammates and his coaches behind. I don't understand the mindset these days. Both Andre Roberts and Cortez Allen were drafted out of the citadel and have had very good pro careers. There was no reason to think that he couldn't have done the same. None of it makes any sense to me. I guess if there was one thing we would expect The Citadel to teach it would be loyalty. I can't imagine having a son and giving him the advice to take a transfer before his final year and leave his teammates and coaches behind. There is no doubt that D is one of the greatest players to ever play football in Charleston. But there's also no doubt that he also is focused mostly on himself.

I realize everyone's going to want to say has the right to make that decision and good luck to him but really I am just shocked.

In going to play football at another school he left his teammates and his football team in the lurch.

JUST CRAZY

It's called working for a living. You have to look out for yourself. It's JOB time for Dee. This is best for Dee and maybe The Citadel in the long run.

Also, it's not fair to compare Dee's situation with Andre's and Cortez's because they didn't have the opportunity Dee had in front of him. So much for redshirting.

Also, the Pinson and Delaney situation is a resounding affirmation of our coaching staff. This isn't terrible news.

Hey 89, with respect I disagree. Whatever happened to loyalt?. I just can't believe that a guy would leave his teammates and his coaches in the lurch before his final year. That sort of thinking is alien to me. Certainly you could and it's easy to conjure up circumstances that would present a situation where somebody might want to transfer. Clearly this is not the situation.

I don't think it is good in the long run to lose your best devensive player. This whole thing makes me sick and I can't believe he's choosing to leave.

So that being said he has every right to make that decision. And I hope all his dreams come true. I also hope that another guy is playing his position at the next spring practice so he can get down to Miami as soon as possible.

I second Bravo, bad move which does nothing to improve his chances of getting drafted. Need to show some loyalty to your school and stay the course, worse yet he will always be listed on rosters as a Miami grad

Best of luck to the young man!!!  For his sake, i hope this turns out to be the right decision.

Has this ever happended before in the history of Citadel football, where one of our players transfers to a "Power 5" conference FBS school?????

Usually, WE get the 5th year transfer.

That is about the only positive thing to come
Of this. What FCS players have been recruited to transfer to a FBS P5 program? Not many!!! If anything it will help recruiting.

Hope the grass is greener for him in Miami.....

DD has spent 8 semesters at The Citadel. He will graduate in May. I would assume most on this board spent 8 semesters at Elcid as well. Good Luck in Miami Dee. We will be pulling for you from Charleston.

Like I said before, they could not beat Florida in recruiting so they resort to this. I hope it works for Dee, but that will be good for Miami and that is hard to take.

It's a bad precedent for the program; we don't need FBS schools poaching our best players or having folks leave just because they have dollar signs flashing in their eyes. I believe Pinson is making a big mistake because his draft chances would be greatly improved by playing another year, garnering more honors and getting more looks from the scouts; as it stands now he will likely settle for a free agent contract.
