You and I both helped pay for his education. He gave us 3 great years on the field and is on track to complete his degree. To me my investment was well worth it and he paid off really well. Would I like him to be here another year? Absolutely. But if he left today I don't feel short changed.

i want what's the best situation for him. And I readily admit I don't know all the factors and players pulling strings in this. For that matter none of know the whole situation. So here we all are getting all emotional with little facts on the situation.

Oh and I totally agree on Clevenger. He quit. I don't wish him any ill will, but he's not a part of us. So I too could care less what he did in the World Series.

I will be saddened to see Dee depart. However, I cannot be angered or resentful. He gave us what he committed to - four years. He chose The Road Less Traveled when other options were certainly available. He will be an alumnus of The Citadel.

Travis Jervey left without a degree - I don't recall an outcry. Carson Smith gave up a 5th year to enter the workforce - people understood. My son was advised to attend grad school somewhere other than The Citadel - to avoid the perception of "academic in-breeding" - and so he shall. If we need a thread about someone who "owes" something to The Citadel, I say begin with the three returning starters who are no longer in school due to their own misbehavior - they will never be graduates and did not give the four years they agreed to. I'm angry with them. I resent their poor decisions. Yet we protect their identities and don't discuss the reality of their departures.

Dee made us better. I doubt we would have two championships without him - perhaps not even one. Thank you, Dee.
With that said, DON'T GO!!

**Disclaimer. Should Dee depart and appear on MNF stating "The U" as his alma mater, I will be both angered and resentful.**

Heads Up!  "The word on the street" is that It Is Not A Done Deal yet in Dee's own mind, and even though he will take the visit (which he should) He has not come to a final decision by any means.

My hunch is he will stay. The fact that he was asked by a FBS school to transfer and he remained loyal to his original school will show the scouts more character than they can handle.

I think this is more hype.

Dee Delaney turned 22 on Monday. There is a great deal of pressure on that young man right now. He has been a super cadet and athlete. He is a smart young man. He will make the best decision for his future. I know his blood will always bleed Citadel blue.

Looking at his twitter past 24 hours, I gotta believe he is going to leave for Miami. Can't believe it but my money is on him going to Miami to be part of their nickle.

Given the beating this roster has taken this offseason I'd welcome some good news

Not trying to disagree... but I don't see anything on his VERY ACTIVE Twitter to hint that staying.

I will say that Dee HAS to have the busiest Twitter account on the entire team. Looks like he tweets at least every hour... lol

Come on, Dee. The scouts know who you are and what you can do. Be the Big Fish in the Small Pond for one more season. Miami will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you there, then... well, anything could happen. Lots of playing time, or no playing time.

At The Citadel you will get all the playing time you could ever want. Pros find talent, where ever they are...

BigDog is exactly correct.

Pros find talent wherever it is.

As I stated before, this is an opportunity to show tremendous character by sticking with a team even though the grass "might" be greener on the other side.
