I don't know what the internal drama is (or the actual existence of any drama). It just seemed, from the tweets, like there was some subtle hints at division in the locker room.

These days I think the recruited guys know what The Citadel is about, and what it's offering.

They "commit," take on the "challenge," and then de-commit (whatever that means) some just can't take it and don't make it.

Personality conflicts? A little difficult? Not getting recognition, and playing time?
Life comes at you quickly snowflakes. Step into the corporate world, the military, the government, and understand how quickly.

At this level they're just playing in college and then graduate to real life, slim professional (maybe Europe or Asia) opportunities. No one is going to play in the NBA.

Transfer on out, and get what "feels good," and what's "for everybody."
Good luck with all that.
Believe me in a few months, we graduates won't even remember your names.

Bottom line, I'm not a fan of catering to any individual at the expense of the team.
I'd rather play with 10 guys than the alternative.
Baucom has a team to coach not an individual.

Spot on Game.

It has a lot to do with these stupid snowflake millennials thinking they are special and entitled and all.  I have already forgotten their names especially the one from here in Columbia.  Out.

We as adults are partly to blame for today’s kids attitudes towards themselves. We give them trophies for
participation since they are born. We then put them in travel leagues that use the words select, premiere, etc.
We give them rings for winning a weekend tournament that some guy decided to call a global world championship so more teams would sign up so he could make more $. And then they report to el cid and are called every degrading name in the book by a 125 female and they can’t deal with it all. After all we have done nothing but tell them how great they are at everything they do their entire life. In the kids defense, that is one hell of an adjustment after 18 years .

We had Coach B here in Sumter at a club meeting last night, and his perspective on all the players (he discussed each, but not by name) was enlightening.  The situation was different for each - a family issue, a "don't want anyone to tell me what to do anymore issue", want more playing time issue, and in the case of the PR kid, probably looking to go Pro ball in PR or Europe.  He (and Coach Thompson, which I will address on the gridiron side of things) say that kids more than any time they've seen expect everything to be given to them.  If it's not, they balk.
I did talk to him before things started and told him that his guys had me hanging on the edge of my seat this season and that I am believing he can break the Bulldog's run as one of the 5 how haven't made it to the dance.  He told me that he hopes it's this year!  I was intrigued at that.  He told the group that the three he just signed (and one he's hoping to sign in the next day or so) are better than those he lost and will make the team better.
I'm ready to start watching Cid basketball now after listening to him!

This is not good!  Baucom has lost six of the 12 freshmen on his roster the last two seasons.

Five of the six freshmen on the 2016-17 team are gone (Balogun, Parks, Allende, Johnson, Burgess).  Only Harris is left.

Only way to stay ahead is to be like everyone else and constantly bring in transfers.  We will have a veteran team because 2 of the 3 players Baucom is bringing in are transfers.  It would be better to keep our recruits & have them develop in to better players and see them graduate.  I realize the transfer issue is across CBK, and it's not a Citadel problem.

Next year we will have 1 Grad Trfr (Kern - 2 years eligibility); 4 SRs (Najdawi, Frierson, Williams, & Stallworth - transfer from Texas-Rio Grande Valley); 1 JR (Harris); 4 Sophs (Rice, Webster, Reed Brown - if all 4 come back), & 1 FR (Georgiadas).

This is the one I believe Coach was talking about during the Citadel Club meeting in Sumter 2 days ago:

From P&C:
Citadel basketball gets commitment from Ohio point guard who won two state titles

Citadel basketball has received a verbal commitment from point guard Jerry Higgins of Cleveland.

Higgins, 5-10 and 160 pounds, played at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School, and led his team to two state championships in Ohio. His teams went 24-2 in the state tournament.  Higgins has a 4.4 grade-point average and hopes to be an orthopedic surgeon. He averaged 22.8 points and 6.1 assists as a senior.

Here's a quotation from Higgins.

“I honestly didn’t know how I’d think of it when I went into it,” Higgins said. “I thought it would be more military based, but it was a lot different.

What the hell?

With 2 Grad Student transfers, 3 Seniors & 2 Juniors, can't use the "we're young" excuse this year.
