My son is an Alabama alum and says Tua and Jalen Hurt are not playing Saturday.  Says multiple defensive starters will not play as well.  They are treating the game as a bye.  Makes sense, give younger players some PT and rest the starters.  He thinks we can keep them under 50.  We'll see.

That's contrary to what Saban said in his press conference on Tua (Feinstien said Hurt is in a walking boot).

If they don't play starters, I think our 1st teamers can give the 2 and 3 depth chart guys a bit of a fit, especially their D against a pretty good TO team.  Some Bama fans don't think Jones will move the ball against us very well.

If all of that is the case, I think 42 might be about all they can pull off, especially if we can control some clock.

Hopefully we will play these guys like we played florida state.  Would be happy with the same 12-36 final score against alabama.

I do remember many, many fsu defensive players having to be helped off the field. Not so sure Saban wants his D-line starters to endure the same punishment.

Need a few long drives if possible. And, no need to snap the ball with more than 10 seconds on the play clock. Make that clock run, shorten the game.

I'll be a little surprised if Tagovailoa doesn't start on Saturday. He may not play the entire first half, but I'm guessing he'll be in the game for at least two or three series, depending on how things are going. Hurts almost certainly won't play.

After 2 straight SOCON come from behind wins, the DAWGs are ready & chomping at the bit to get a piece of the Tide:

'BAMA wins the coin flip & defers.  DAWGs march 75 yards, eat up 7 minutes on the clock & lead 7 - 0;  'BAMA is stopped after driving about 30 yards & DAWGS get the ball for their 2nd possession.  Same result as the 1st & the DAWGs lead 14 - 0 early in the 2nd quarter.  'BAMA doesn't know what hit them & the fans and college FB world are shocked;  Saban is livid on the sidelines.  'BAMA scores a TD on their next possession and DAWGs then mount another long, clock eating drive to end the 1st half up 21 - 7;  Saban is beyond livid, & refuses to do an interview on his way to the locker room.  'BAMA gets the ball to open the 2nd half & marches down for a TD, DAWGs are up 21 - 14.  DAWGs eat more clock on their next possession, but can only get a FG, DAWGs up 24 - 14 midway thru the 3rd quarter. 'BAMA scores on their next possession to make the score, 24 - 21 heading in to the 4th quarter.  DAWGs take the KO & march down for another TD, taking another 6 minutes off the clock, DAWGs up 31 - 21.  Teams trade possessions & both punt. 'BAMA scores on their next possession to make the score, DAWGs 31, 'BAMA 28, with under 2 minutes to play.  'BAMA hasn't been able to stop the TO all day, & nothing changes here as the DAWGs run out the clock & win, 31 - 28.

And then you wake up.... checking the score from your lazy boy.  50-3 Tide final...  sad to say this but we are going to be lucky to get on the board.  But hey miracles do happen.

Again I say getting on the board equals success for use, as both MSU and LSU haven't accomplished that feat.

I can remember back when I first came in the Army & was in my OBC.  We had to do  "peer rankings";  We rated everyone in our class from #1 down to the last person.  You couldn't put yourself #1.

After I got a little older & wiser, I realized how stupid that was - if I didn't think I was #1, why should anyone else.

Same thing in sports.  You have to believe that you are going to win, even if everything and everyone says you don't have a snowballs chance in hell.

You gotta believe!

81Dawg,
You left out the turnovers. #88 hits Tua in his knee, and the QB fumbles; we take over deep in Herd territory and score. Next ALA series a nervous Jones hits Spann in chest - quick return for 6. We have to get some turnovers to even make a dent.
With the LSU and Miss St shutouts a TD is a win, and I think we get it.
